Jacob Saavedra

Mixed Media Artist
My name is Jacob Saavedra, I am a 27-year-old Artist from New Mexico and graduate of the Southwest University of Visual Arts with a bachelor’s in graphic design.

I design, illustrate, paint and take photography as well as experiment in various mediums that I find interesting or fun. I have always been into creating ever since I was a child, but I didn’t start to take it seriously until the resurgence of my auto-immune disorder that I have, Evan’s Syndrome, back in 2015. I had to quit my job and schooling at the time in order to receive treatments, during this time I was trying to find any way that I could to help calm my mind and find some peace. I turned back to art and really found myself diving deep into it, especially with the learning of painting, something I had never really done before then.

Ever since then I have used my art as a means of channeling my inner self and my desires. I paint what I feel and what I love. As such my art takes on an abstract form which I like because I feel like it allows for different interpretations from other viewers.
