MoNa Aragon
Mixed Media Artist
MoNa is a 5th generation native New Mexican. She has had an affinity for the visual
arts and naturally drew her interpretation of realism since a very early age. Being from a large hispanic family, a #2 pencil and paper scraps carried in a shoe box was her tool set.
She chose to follow the career path as a computer-based application developer and visualization specialist at Sandia National Laboratories. MoNa has been featured on the cover of 20 popular science journals. Achieved 21 national and international awards for web sites, interactive multimedia applications, technical publications, and conference presentations in both Science and Engineering research fields.
Since retirement, she is finally able to focus on her true passion of creating fine art full- time. Her current art style is representational subject matter with aspects of realism using acrylic and charcoal on canvas. Her graduate degree is from the University of New Mexico, with research in Interactive Multimedia/Programming and undergrad work in Fine Arts.
